So What’s New ???
This is our first quarterly meeting since the pandemic. Many things will never be the same, so come and find out what all the changes are in the following areas:
11.00 AM – Federal and State Regulators – Since we have a new administration, find out who the new managers are at all the federal levels. At the state level, we will have all the regulators at the meeting, to include Jay Kemberling, UST Program Manager, GA EPD, Shaheer Muhanna, GA EPD, Jason Pritchett, Georgia Fire Marshals Office, David Au and Dr. John Shugart, Georgia Fuels Laboratory, Bassey Udosen, Georgia EPD, Air Quality.
12:00 Noon – Buffet Lunch at Copelands consisting of: Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits, House Salad, Golden Fried Fish, Blackened Chicken, Shrimp Etouffee, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Red Beans & Rice, Vegetables Toot-Toot, Mini Brownies, Unlimited Coffee, Iced Tea and Sodas.
1:00 PM – GTEC – Our Association – Our Plans for the Future – We will present events planned for the remainder of the year plus a convention in early 2022. We will solicit your comments and suggestions also.
1:30 PM – 2021 Georgia Legislature Session – Angela Holland, President of the Georgia Association of Convenience Stores (GACS), will update us on the 2021 Georgia Legislative Session Legislation on the following subjects: Tobacco/Vape, Fuel, Alcohol, Human Trafficking,Labor, Taxes and Fees, Commercial Driver’s License,Crime, Campaign Finance, Economic Development, Campaign Finance, Economic Development, Food Desert, and General Business.
2:00 PM – New Technology, New Products/Services – Equipment Supplier Members will have the opportunity to present any new products/services. If your company has anythning new to present, please e-mail Bill at billgreer@gteca.com prior to May 14 to give the info to him.
2:30 PM – New Publications – Find out about new Recommended Practices published by the Petroleum Equipment Institute; Also, publications and posters available from OSHA.
3: 00 PM – Break
3:15 PM – New Business Accounting Factors – GTEC’s Accountant, Susan Stewart, will explain several accounting items, such as, Tax Credits, Unemployment, Minimum Wage items, Health Insurance Items.
3:35 PM – Investment Mistakes You Should Avoid – Michael Hebdon with Edward Jones will go over some of the obvious mistakes that should be avoided.
3:55 PM – New Environmental Laws will be presented by Ed Hallman, GTEC’s Legal Counsel of Record.
4:15 PM – Things You May Never Experience Again Because of the Pandemic. (Ending on a lighter Note.)
4:25 PM – Door Prize Drawing and Adjourn
Fees to Attend:
GTEC Member Fee: $60 per person
GTEC Non-Member Fee: $100 per person
