WHY JOIN GTECA?
GTECA is a trade association of petroleum equipment and environmental contractors and consultants who conduct business in Georgia. GTECA’s primary goal is to promote professionalism within the industry through education, training and certification.
GTECA provides resources to Georgia regulatory and petroleum marketer communities. GTECA is the Georgia regulatory agencies’ referral organization for qualified petroleum equipment and environmental contractors and consultants.
GTECA provides frequent communications to all active and associate members through e-mail announcements which include technical and regulatory information as well as industry updates.
GTECA is one of the only state associations to hold an annual/bi-annual convention for its members. Our next convention is scheduled for March 2024 at St. Simons Island, GA.
GTECA began a Management and Compliance Seminar for underground and aboveground storage tank owners in 2002 named the UST Management & Compliance Assistance Seminar. GTEC members are able to display their products and services at these seminars.
GTECA has established itself as a voice between its members and the regulatory and petroleum marketers communities. GTECA has been able to affect changes in regulations, obtain clarifications on confusing regulatory issues and has provided technical assistance and information to the regulatory community.
GTECA has strong relationships with various oil marketer associations and other trade associations whose members have an interest in the petroleum industry.
GTECA provides various instructional courses to its members at discounted rates. These include courses on UST installations and closures, AST installation courses, vapor recovery courses and a cathodic protection testers course.
GTECA provides quarterly and/or other periodic programs that keep its members up to date on regulatory changes as well as providing useful information on technical and business issues. Programs have included subjects such as: UST Closure Guidance, Aboveground Storage Tanks, Insurance, OSHA Safety Compliance Inspections, State Fire Marshal regulations, SPCC Plans, UST Upgrade Options, Computer Technology, Use of the Internet, Concrete, Determining True Labor Costs, Pitfalls of Growing Too Fast, EPA Sampling Procedures, Continuity Testing of Petroleum Fueling systems Hardware, and Vapor Recovery equipment changes/ decommissioning procedures.
