Cathodic Protection Tester Certification/Re-Certification Course

The Cathodic Protection Tester certification is designed for individuals responsible for observing, recording, or measuring the effectiveness of cathodic protection (CP) systems. This certification also addresses field personnel functions and is an entry into the cathodic protection profession and candidates should have entry-level knowledge of galvanic and impressed current systems CP systems.

The Cathodic Protection Tester course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical techniques for testing and evaluating data to determine the effectiveness of both galvanic and impressed current systems and to gather design data. Classroom instruction is comprised of lectures and hands-on training, including using equipment and instruments for CP testing.

The Certification Course is made up of approximately three (3) days of self-guided study, one-day of classroom education, and one-day of hands-on training followed by a written exam. A score of 70 or better is required to obtain your certification. Course participants will be shipped a study manual which should be thoroughly reviewed before the classroom session. The Re-certification Course is one (1) day of self-guided study, one-day of classroom education, and one-day of hands-on training. A written exam will follow the training and you must score 70 or better to obtain your re-certification. Course participants will be shipped a study manual which should be thoroughly reviewed before the classroom session.

Re-certification is required every 3 years.
